Industrial Visit: Coca-Cola Happiness Factory, Moon Beverages Limited

ISTE Student Chapter and Institution’s Innovation Council (IIC), Ministry of Education (MoE), Dronacharya Group of Institutions, Greater Noida organized an ‘Industrial visit’ to the Coca-Cola Happiness Factory, Moon Beverages Limited, located in Greater Noida on 11th December 2023. Dr. Sahab Singh (MBA Dept.) along with 45 students from MBA and B.Tech visited the factory.
The primary objective of the visit was to familiarize students with production and operations management and provide them with valuable insights into the overall management of a beverage factory.
Coca-Cola is engaged in the production of various beverages, including carbonated drinks and juices. According to recent reports, the company serves more than 2 billion servings globally every day, employing 7 lakh individuals and collaborating with approximately 225 bottling partners to deliver its services worldwide.
Ms. Richa Gupta, Corporate Officer-Training & Development at Coca-Cola Happiness, initiated the session by providing an overview of the company's origin, stake, and a comprehensive explanation of the production and operations process. She conducted a seminar in which she discussed how raw materials are procured, the transformation of fruits into pulp, the filling of machinery with juices and pulp, and the packaging of cans and bottles in various sizes using robotic structures. This was followed by loading for final product delivery through transportation.
Ms. Richa Gupta offered hands-on-discussion with students and provided profound insights into Coca-Cola's journey to becoming the 10th largest employer globally and its commitment to sustainability since 1977. Ms. Gupta also educated students about "5M2020," an initiative by Coca-Cola towards Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), along with strategies for creating an unforgettable product image in the beverage market.
She effectively demonstrated the practical application of theories taught in academic institutions, fostering awareness in society. She addressed all queries and doubts from visiting students at the end of the visit, concluding with an invitation for them to taste Coca-Cola.
Students attentively observed every detail provided by the guide, expressing keen interest in learning the intricacies of beverage production and packaging for end consumers. The industrial visit proved to be highly informative, offering significant learning opportunities for the students.
